Ships with three drive systems (shield, jump, and grav drive).

Shield drive provides fast travel within solar systems, jump drive interstellar travel between stars, and grav drive landing on or around gravitation bodies and moons.

Tricore are small and rare ships;

less than 1% of the fleet are tricore.

The ability to independently land without coordinating dropship service made them ideal for smuggling.
