Drake Sturgess

Born 2154.

Drake’s parents were technical staffers within a Rank-5 Maecenas corporation on Gator.

They advanced into a Rank-6 Maecenas corporation on White Seed in 2154 (often called Whalen’s Reach) where Drake was born later that year.

Drake was an exceptional student who dreamed of an academic future on Earth.

Having studied hard toward that goal, he was offered numerous scholarships and was set to head to Earth in 2171.

His parents had not revealed their exodus plans to their children.

They intended to leave the Starguild in the near future and could not leave their children behind.

Drake was a precocious youth, and at 16 he was told the secret.

Drake understood his parent’s desire to leave the Starguild and knew he had no future in the Guild as the son of traitors.

He gave up his dream of an academic future beyond politics and decided to stay on Whalen’s Reach.

Academic disappointment was short lived;

Professor Zachary Whalen offered him an internship.

Within a year he was actively contributing to the exodus as an intern on Whalen’s team.

2175, the exodus left Whalen’s Reach.

Drake (21 YO) had transformed himself from academic to practical technician.

He was well versed with life support systems and instrumentation.

A member of a critical repair team he moved ship to ship responding to hardware emergencies.

2179 and 2180 activities anchor classified (discrete to senate secure information facility).

2181, Drake joined the newly formed dragonstar research team led by Zachary Whalen.

He was involved with dragonstar technology from its inception.

2187, Drake sought a place on the strikerail and tried to find time to enter the budding Seven Worlds Starforce Academy.

Dragonstar research team remained his priority, and with restricted time, he could only make slow progress.

2189, Drake was pulled early from academy for strikerail Veritas’ shakedown cruise.

Veritas had just started shakedown refit when an emergency on Earth demanded immediate deployment.

Veritas first solo tour remains anchor classified (discrete to senate secure information facility).

2191, Veritas embarked on her second solo mission.

Drake was promoted to tech-security officer.

Final New Eden raid prep was completed: Soyer Miller ported down as Bruno Kovacs was recalled from outbound immigration quarantine, dragonstar delivery of explosives and raid gear to New Eden, final Web recon.

Veritas returned to the Seven Worlds a little before Veritas B was commissioned.

2194, taskforce Veritas A and B embarked for New Eden (first deployment of a strikerail pair).
