Shield drive opened the solar system to development.

Before shield drive, conventional travel to Mars took years; with shield drive, it became days.

In 2127, Mark Heisson unveiled interstellar drive.

Jump drive exchanged a volume around the ship with an equivalent volume many light years away.

Faster than light travel opened the galaxy to exploration.

By 2135, six multi-national conglomerates were searching for habitable star systems.

Exotech was the first to find an earthlike world.

New Eden became humanity’s first large-scale colonization effort and it attracted a generation’s best.

Resources and talent poured into New Eden transforming Exotech into the first mega-starfaring conglomerate.

Each conglomerate explored its own route from Earth and each raised its own private military to guard its territory.

These corporate armed forces evolved into the first effective starforces.
